Abstract

This collection houses one 45' LP RCA record entitled Spirit of the Vols. It contains four tracks: Alma Mater,Fight Vols Fight,Down the Field Cheers (including Two Bits, Four Bits,Ho Hi Hey,Yeh Vols Fight, and Yeh Orange, Yeh Vols), and Great Day. The performance was directed by Ambrose Holford and sung by the Tenn-Men. The record case contains the lyrics to the Alma Mater.

This collection houses a University of Tennessee sports card from the early 1900s advertising Murad Cigarettes. It shows the University of Tennessee seal with a picture of a figure playing polo. The card is part of College Series 26-50 and is stamped Packet No. S. 260. The back of the card shows a list of other universities and colleges included in series 26-50.

It includes two different versions of the school's Alma Mater circa 1928, a booklet of sheet music titled "Songs of the Volunteers" published in 1929, undated sheet music for "Dear Old Elm-Clad Hill", and undated sheet music for Pi Kappa Alpha's "Sweetheart".

Abstract

This collection consists of color postcards showing various University of Tennessee, Knoxville campus views and specific campus buildings. The subjects depicted include views of the campus from Circle Park, Barbara Blount Hall, Ferris Hall, the main entrance to the Hill, Ayres Hall, Sophronia Strong Residence Hall, the Home Economics Building, and the Agricultural Experiment Station. The postmarks range from 1905 to 1941. The collection also includes a report of grades postmarked in 1933.

This collection houses papers (including correspondence, subject files, and other materials) created by the Office of the President during the tenures of Charles W. Dabney (1887-1904), Brown Ayres (1904-1919), Harcourt Morgan (1919-1934), and James D. Hoskins (1934-1946). The bulk of the collection dates from the Morgan and Hoskins administrations. These papers were formerly referred to as the Transferred Files (Folders 1-799) and the Retired Files (Folders 800-1012).
