Marquis D. L. Burnett Military Discharge Certificate
This certificate indicates that Marquis D. L. Burnett of Knoxville, Tennessee, who served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 5th Regiment of the East Tennessee Infantry Volunteers, was honorably discharged. It is a replacement for his original discharge papers, which were issued on August 3, 1862.

Moore Family Collection
Murphy and Robinson Letter
Collection consists of a short letter written on the letterhead for Murphy and Robinson, a Knoxville, Tenn., dealer of hats, caps and straw goods. The letter, dated November 2, 1899, reads in part, "I have sold over $200.00 worth of them this year. Everything is moving along nicely. The spring goods are beginning to come in and we have just finished taking stock."
Musikalische 5 Cent Collection Songbook
This collection consists of a single German-language songbook entitled Musikalische 5 Cent Collection most likely dating from 1883. It provides the lyrics and music for three songs: Das Weihnachts=Licht (The Christmas Light), Wenn der Herr die Gefangenen Zions erloefen wird (When the Lord Delivers Zion's Captives) and Fortfestung (A Mighty Fortress). The final two pieces constitute a musical setting of Psalm 126. This copy was printed in Knoxville, Tennessee by Tilghman Haws.

Nancy Siler Collection
This collection includes letters of appreciation from fans, correspondence with publishers, newspaper clippings and announcements, and papers related to Nancy Siler's two books, The Peculiar Miss Pickett and Miss Pickett's Secrets. The collection also contains works on the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital and a history of the First Baptist Church of Knoxville.
Neal O'Steen Papers Regarding Tennessee History, Supreme Court Justices, and Daniel Boone
This collection consists primarily of newspaper columns, publications, and notes documenting Neal O'Steen's research into Tennessee during the Civil War and early Knoxville history. Also included are letters and publications regarding a trip that Daniel Boone may have made to Idaho, and photographs of Supreme Court Justices James C. McReynolds, Horace H. Lurton, Abe Fortas, Howell E. Jackson, John Catron, and Edward T. Sanford.
Newman Circle Minute Book
This journal records the biweekly meetings of the Newman Circle, a women’s club that met in Knoxville. It opens with the course of study and list of officers for the 1922-23 school year before beginning the minutes for January 2, 1923. There are no records for the 1924-25 school year, and the last record is for May 22, 1928. Most of the officers changed each year, but the directors continued to be Miss Kate White and Mrs. L. E. Vedder.
Neyland Stadium Photographs
This collection contains three 8 x 10 photographs of Neyland Stadium taken from the west side bleachers during the mid-1960s. These images include interiors of the east and south sides of the stadium as well as sections of surrounding Knoxville.
Nicholson Art League
This typewritten oral history is about the Nicholson Art League from Evelyn Louise Van Gilder Creekmore. She was interviewed by her daughter, Eleanor Creekmore Dickinson, on November 27, 1987. The interview shares some of the early history of the Nicholson Art League.
Notes on the Chavannes Family
A. F. Ernest Chavannes compiled these notes on the Chavannes family in 1882. The narrative begins with Bernard Chavannes (the family's first known ancestor) and traces eight generations of the family in Europe and the United States. Adrian Leon Chavannes (1871-1938) translated and transcribed these notes in 1934.
O. P. Temple Portrait
This collection consists of a photographic reproduction of a portrait of Oliver Perry Temple. The original portrait depicts Temple as he appeared between approximately 1890 and 1900.
