Jerome Jacobs World War II Memoirs
This collection consists of Dr. Jerome Jacobs' World War II memoirs, entitled Some Came Home. The bulk of the material documents the years from 1941 to 1945. Dr. Jacobs, a fighter pilot veteran, recounts his experiences training as a pilot, his involvement in combat and in Operation Market Garden, and some of his experiences as a prisoner of war.

Kenneth J. Epping World War II Collection
This collection houses the Bronze Star that Kenneth J. Epping earned during World War II and copies of the VFW edition of a four-volume set entitled Pictorial History of the Second World War.
Matt Chitwood Collection
This collection documents the World War II service of Matt Chitwood and contains a letter, a photograph of Chitwood during his service, and a newsletter from USS Taylor. The letter, handwritten and five pages in length, was written in 1997 by Chitwood and includes some remembrances of the war and his time at the 83rd Field Hospital, particularly working with German POWs.
Philip B. Farris Collection
This collection contains material documenting the military service of Philip B. Farris, particularly his time as a prisoner of war during World War II. Included is correspondence from Farris to family members as well as correspondence to Farris’s parents from the military and friends regarding his prisoner of war status. Also included are newspaper clippings, a map of POW camps, and a few photocopied photographs of Farris with handwritten descriptions.

Robert Asquith Collection
This collection includes a copy of "Liberation," dictating Robert Asquith's time as a prisoner of war during World War II and his liberation. It also contains one copy of a First Lutheran Church (Knoxville, Tenn.) service bulletin with names and addresses of church members serving during World War II and a section for letters from soldiers, including a letter from Asquith.

“The World War II Years: The Memoirs of Jack W. Brugh”
This collection is a typed memoir of Jack Brugh’s experiences during World War II, particularly as a prisoner of war in Germany. Brugh touches on his life prior to joining the military, his enlistment in 1943, basic training, and his time abroad in the European Theater of War. Brugh describes his imprisonment at Stalag IV-B during 1944-1945 following capture during the Battle of the Bulge and his subsequent escape and journey to rejoin American lines.
Thomas J. Curtin Memoir
This collection contains the World War II memoir of Thomas Curtin. The manuscript begins with a letter written to his children explaining his reasonings for writing down his memories of his wartime experiences. The typed memoir is four pages long and focuses on Curtin’s experiences while discovering Stalag Luft III, a prisoner of war camp.
Wiley O. Woods, Jr. and Edward W. Weiss Papers
This collection contains research collected by Wiley O. Woods, Jr. and Ed Weiss. It concerns the detachment of Air Force men who were sent to San Jose, Mindoro, Philippine Islands during the early days of World War II, and who spent 37 months in a Prisoner of War camp (Tan Toey) on the island of Ambon.
William W. Luttrell Collection
This collection contains material documenting William W. Luttrell's experience as a soldier and a prisoner of war in World War II. Included are letters, Luttrell's own memoir, photographs, newspaper clippings, ephemera, and more.
World War II Oral History Collection
This collection includes recorded interviews with World War II veterans. In addition to their wartime experiences, veterans are asked about their upbringing, their lives before entering the service, and their attempts to readjust to civilian life after discharge. Information regarding theatre, branch and interviewer have been included when available. Transcripts are available for some interviews.
