This collection contains documents related to William Cecil Baker's life between 1918 and 1927.

This collection includes publications kept by William Clark about the Fifteenth Air Force (established in 1943 during WWII). The three publications are Fifteenth Air Force “Sorties” from 1985, 1986, and 1988.

This collection consists of a letter dated March 3, 1848 from General William Conner to President James Polk, written from Brownsville, Tennessee. Conner requests the appointment of his son, John Conner, as a captain in the U. S. Army. John was enlisted in the 4th regiment of the Tennessee Volunteers at the time this letter was written.

In an October 25, 1837 letter to J. W. Campbell in Jackson, Tenn., General William Conner, a promoter for the town of Ashport on the Mississippi River, writes of the town's success and future growth. He also tells of finding Native American remains.

This collection is composed of a letter that William Cosgrove of the 1st Ohio Light Artillery Regiment, Battery G, wrote to his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bowers, in Mount Vernon (Knox County) Ohio from Nashville, Tennessee on January 31, 1864. He writes of cousin Charles's death in Memphis and his own Battery's move to Nashville. Also, he speaks of conditions in camp, including a recent outbreak of smallpox and his personal troubles with rheumatism.

This collection consists of two voter registration papers dated, June 29, 1865 and August 4, 1866, and one correspondence from the United States Marshal, dated May 21, 1877, regarding a bankruptcy case.

This collection is an album of World War II photographs taken by William D. Cotton. He was stationed in Iran as part of the Persian Gulf Command from 1943-1945. The photographs document his tour in Iran as well as travels to surrounding areas including Iraq and Palestine. Along with photos of his fellow officers, there are depictions of local culture, carnivals, and trips he took with friends and colleagues.

This collection includes photographs largely from the European Theater of Operations Headquarters during World War II.

Collection contains postcards that William D. Scarlett Jr. sent to his mother, Gladys Scarlett in Knoxville, Tennessee. Scarlett sent the postcards from Switzerland and France at the end of World War II, from May to August 1945.

This broadside explains why William Woodson is running as a candidate for court clerk in Henry County, Tennessee. His message is that offices shouldn’t be held by the same person for many years because turnover is important to the morale of young people who should be able to aspire to a term in government themselves.

The Derris Slide Collection is solely composed of approximately 4400 slides from the 1940's thru the 1960's of the Great Smoky Mountains region of Tennessee. Mr. William Derris was an amateur photographer and owner of the Derris Motel (later the Laughing Horse Inn) in Townsend, Tennessee, which he photographed at length and used the slides of those photographs in a slide show for the entertainment of his Inn's numerous and varied guests.

With this indenture, William Dickson sells John Maloney Jr. 0.5 acres of land in Greeneville, Tennessee for $600.00. The reverse of the document bears a notation indicating that the sale was formally recorded in the Greene County Register's Office the following day.

William Dunlap writes to his sister commenting on Confederate prisoners taken and expressing his hope that the Union Army controls Richmond, Virginia. He also comments upon his general well-being and his desire to know more about Nelson. The letter is dated May 10th, 1863 from Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

This collection features multiple training manuals, dated during the 1940s, used by William E. Austin and fellow soldiers while training for World War II. These manuals include basic training as well as technical and engineering instructions.

This memoir, written in 1996, is William Bobbitt's account of his time fighting in the Pacific Theater during World War II. The manuscript traces his military career from his training with a National Guard Unit in 1941 to his discharge in 1945. During his service, Bobbitt was stationed on many Pacific islands and faced combat in the Philippines.

This collection is an account book for a general store located in Henry Crossroads, Tennessee. Dates in the book run from 1831 to 1848. Some pages in the book also include what appears to be handwriting practice, likely from William Bryan's children.

This collection consists of a letter from W. E. Gillenwaters, deputy warden of the Tennessee State Prison in Nashville, to the chief of police in Dallas, Texas, dated February 27, 1909. It provides a description of escaped prisoner William Blase so that he can be recaptured.
