By-Ways, Highways and Ways
This collection consists of two drafts of a talk given to the Dickson County Historical Society by J. B. Murray. The talk concerned the history of the roads in Dickson County, Tennessee. The talk dated back to the early 1800s, when roads started to be built across the country.
Byron de la Beckwith Collection
Byron De La Beckwith Letter
In a March 21, 1972 handwritten letter of application for employment with Bryan Brothers Packing Company in West Point, Mississippi, Byron De La Beckwith provides his employment history and his thoughts on topics such as labor unions, dealings with minority customers, integrated schools, and politics. He also lists organizations and activities with which he is affiliated.
C. A. Harris Letter to James K. Polk
In this letter, Harris asks Polk to send him the names of anyone he would like invited to an upcoming Medical Board so that the appropriate invitations can be mailed.
C. B. Alexander Collection
This collection houses materials collected by University of Tennessee student Cyrus B. Alexander. These items include an Athletic Association ticket for intercollegiate games during the 1919-1920 season, a tuition receipt for the second term of 1918-1919, a pamphlet for the Summer School of the South's Manual Training and Mechanical Drawing program, and a newsletter from Charles Ferris, Dean of Engineering, dated July 12, 1921.
C. B. Alexander Receipt
The C. B. Alexander Receipt Folder contains receipts, checks, letters and envelopes, account books, credit and registration certificates, and membership cards for the Order of the Railroad Telegraphers, as well as a photo negative of a soldier and postcard of the Knoxville Deaf and Dumb School. The items date from 1916-1923.
