This collection contains the research materials and drafts for Valley So Wild: A Folk History by Alberta and Carson Brewer and articles/columns for Knoxville News-Sentinel by or about Carson Brewer.

Carson Brewer wrote these columns for the Knoxville News-Sentinel on such subjects as Knoxville, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the people and communities of the Smoky Mountains region, and the Tennessee Valley Authority between the 1940s and the 1980s.

This collection contains 45 items, mainly articles, written by Carson Brewer for the Knoxville News-Sentinel from 1959 to 1992. Most of the articles contain local stories about history and people's experiences or activities.

This collection contains a letter and three receipts documenting purchases from the Carver Wagon Company in Morristown, Tennessee made in 1918, 1924, and 1940.

This collection consists of travel journals, photographs, letters, and a notebook of collected writings and clippings all relating to attorney Cary G. Brance. Included in the journals is an account of Branch's trip to Nashville and Knoxville.

Collection consists of a single photograph of Cas Walker. It is signed by Walker above text that reads "Cas Walker the 'Ole Coon Hunter.'" The photo is undated. The address and telephone number for David's Music Barn in Powell, Tenn., is printed on the photograph as well.

This collection includes genealogical information and histories of various Tennessee families. The family surnames include: West, Hadley, Stout, Kelly, and Roberts. The collection also includes a Roberts Family attendee list for Washington Presbyterian Church of Corryton, Knox County, Tennessee. The papers include days of birth and death, titles, and places of residence within the family histories. Family origins and members are also listed in chronological order.

Two of these letters, both addressed to an unknown recipient, concern subscriptions to the Weekly Globe. The third (dated 1843) is addressed to John H. Caustine and concerns fees for dealing with spoliation claims.

This collection contains two letters written by Cave Johnson to the editor of The Globe in Washington City regarding his subscription to that newspaper.

This collection includes twenty-one sepia portraits of Nashville-area members of the Knights Templar, an order of the Freemasons, taken sometime between 1867 and 1877. The photos were produced at the studio of C. C. Giers, and feature red hand-tinted details as well as the name of each man on the reverse.

This collection consists of 12 photographs of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Camp Chapman 1460, located near Sevierville, Tenn. Photographs depict the camp buildings and the people who worked there.

In this three-column broadside, Collins D. Elliott responds to criticisms about his role in the Nashville Female Academy by providing his spiritual autobiography and his views on religion and children.

These papers document Cecil Staley’s service with the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Included are Staley’s typed accounts of his missions in Japan from December 1944 to July 1945.

This collection contains four letters, typed and handwritten, by Célestin Pierre Cambiaire. Cambiaire sent them in 1933 and 1934 inquiring after academic positions and opportunities, such as asking for recommendations of publishing companies for his work and possible teaching positions. The letters vary in length and topic, but they all demonstrate Cambiaire's desire for involvement in the historical community and his interest in early French and American history.

This collection houses the 1973-74 Annual Report of Research and Service Activities issued by the Center for Business and Economic Research on the University of Tennessee campus. It includes background and objectives, descriptions of studies conducted, and notes on funding.
