This collection consists of a pamphlet about Alex Haley's Queen. The pamphlet consists of set pictures, a timeline of the Civil War, and a synopsis of each part of the mini-series. The pamphlet was intended to be used as a study and discussion guide for classroom teachers to use alongside viewing Queen, a television mini-series documenting the life of Haley's grandmother.

Alexander Family Genealogical Sketch

In this photocopied genealogical sketch, J. G. M. Ramsey traces the Alexander family's genealogy from Sir William Alexander (the first of the family to settle in the United States) to his granddaughter, Rhody (Alexander) Rodgers and her immediate family. Ramsey was related to the Alexanders through his father, who was William Alexander's great-grandson.

Alexander Gurwitsch and Hermann Muller Photographs

This collection consists of several photographs of scientists Alexander Gurwitsch and Hermann Muller. The photographs of Gurwitsch were taken in October 1933, November 1933, and November 1937 and also depict his wife and long-time collaborator Lydia. The photograph of Muller and his wife, Dorothea, was taken in 1950. Also included is a photograph of laboratory equipment.

Alfred L. Schmied Papers
