"A Magic Moment" by Douglas and Mildred Norman

Written by Douglas and Mildred Norman for the 40th Anniversary of World War II, "A Magic Moment" details Tennessee Technological University's history in the world wars and its participation. Arthur B. Cox Jr.’s “Escape through Enemy Territory”

Overview

This collection includes one photocopy of Arthur B. Cox Jr.’s autobiography, “Escape through Enemy Territory.” The story details Cox’s service with the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the European Theater, including his experience of being shot down over France, spending time with a French family before escaping to Spain, and spending a month in a Spanish prison before being rescued.

Autobiography of a Country Boy

Abstract

In this book, John Richard Blanton describes his childhood in Unionville, Tennessee, his education at the University of Tennessee in the 1920s, and his later career as a teacher and school administrator in primary and secondary schools in Spring City, Nashville, and Jackson, Tennessee. He also provides some information about his service in World War II and about his ancestry, including a genealogical chart of the Blanton and Crisp families.
