This collection consists of military documents, yearbooks, photographs, and correspondence which document Dewey E. Crowe's service in the United States Air Force during World War II.

The Don Whitehead Journalistic Collection houses manuscripts, scrapbooks, correspondence, photos, newspaper columns, and personal memorabilia documenting Whitehead's 40-year journalistic career.

This collection consists of a photocopy of Donald B. Heffron's handwritten, personal account of his World War II experiences as a Marine Raider. The manuscript begins with his last few years in high school and ends circa 1946. Also available is a press clipping from The Knoxville News-Sentinel, part of an advertising supplement in the September 6, 1998, issue on Townsend, TN.

This collection contains one copy of "My Forties," Donald L. Askerman's typed memoir of his experiences during World War II.

The Dr. Andrew Kang Oral History, 2002, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Dr. Andrew Kang by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Crystal Dover of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences.

The Dr. Harold Diftler Oral History, 2003 is a typescript from an oral history interview with Dr. Harold Diftler by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Brad Mason of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

The Dr. Hermes Grillo Oral History, 2002, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Dr. Hermes Grillo by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Crystal Dover of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods. Dr. Grillo shares the experience of surgery on the war front.

This interview covers Pointer's boyhood on a farm in Heiskell, Tenn. (Knox County) through his experience flying as a pilot in WWII.

This collection consists primarily of correspondence between Dwight H. Stuckey and World War II fighter aces John Alden Tilley, Daniel J. Zoerb, George Carpenter, and Gil Niceley. In these letters, the pilots recount their memories of their military service. Also included are signed biographical sketches of pilots Major General Ralph Gordon Taylor, Major Robert W. Moore, and Marion Franklin Kirby.

This collection includes photographs, maps, papers, newspapers, documents, booklets, and other publications kept by Brig. General Dwight L. McReynolds during his service in World War II (European Theater) and shortly after.

This collection is the World War II memoir of Earl S. Wilson, particularly Wilson’s time training in 1942. The manuscript is a 21-page typed document, made in 1987. The memoir begins with Wilson’s entry into the service in July 1942 and follows him through the end of the year; he recounts stories of his training at Camp Wolters, Fort Leonard Wood, and the University of Kentucky. Wilson later served in the Pacific Theater of War, though this time is not covered in this manuscript.

This collection consists of World War II publications documenting the Pacific Theater of Operations and specifically the 2nd Engineer Special Brigade. Publications include newsletters, newspapers, foreign country guides, booklets, and more.

These papers consist of two December 1944 action records for the Destroyer USS Edwards made by the ship's Commanding Officer, Earl W. Quintrell. Also included are his typed answers to a 2002 questionnaire from a researcher, and a letter to the National Archives where copies of the action reports were sent.

This collection features resources about the Prisoner of War camps in Crossville and Tullahoma, Tennessee. Including personal narratives, documents, and later recounts and analyses, these materials present information and understanding of these two camps during WWII.

The Eaton W. Bennett Collection consists of three folders, which contain maps of Okinawa, a History of the 233rd General Hospital (1945), and assorted materials such as a menu, bulletin, and maps.

This autographed memoir, entitled "My Last Mission", describes Lieutenant Colonel Ed Merkel's time, May 1943 -July 1945, as a B-17 pilot and German POW during World War II.
