Written by Douglas and Mildred Norman for the 40th Anniversary of World War II, "A Magic Moment" details Tennessee Technological University's history in the world wars and its participation. The Normans describe Tennessee Tech's efforts to house and accomodate returning WWII veterans and the conditions in which the small school worked to honor their veterans.

This collection contains a diary in which Albert Hall Bowman wrote his notes on his experiences during the invasion of Normandy in World War II.

The Betty J. Sparks Oral History, 2001, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Betty J. Sparks by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Lindsey Waller of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society.

The Bill White Oral History, 2000, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Bill White by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Brandi Wilson of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

In this memoir, Buck Donaldson recounts his childhood in rural Louisiana and his service in the U. S. Navy during World War II.

This collection consists of a transcript of an interview with Buck Donaldson by Kurt Piehler and Tiffany Davis conducted on October 21, 2002 in Knoxville, Tennessee as part of the Veteran's Oral History Project. In the interview, Donaldson speaks about his childhood in the Depression, his experiences in the Navy during World War II, and his postwar life as a missionary in Africa.

This collection features a copy of Calm Seas, Friendly Beaches: A Landing Craft Sailor's Prayer written by Gerald M. Yankee and copyrighted in 2014. In this book, Yankee dictates his experience as a sailor in World War II for U.S. Naval landing crafts in the Pacific Theatre of war.

These papers document Cecil Staley’s service with the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II in the Pacific Theatre of Operations. Included are Staley’s typed accounts of his missions in Japan from December 1944 to July 1945.

The document covers Eisiminger's experiences joining and training with the Army Air Corps and his active service during and after World War II. Eisiminger also reminisces about fellow soldiers and observations about the effects of war.

This collection features Claus Mann's brief memoir on his experience in the 35th Field Hospital serving on the North African front during World War II.
