Columbia Athenaeum Progress Report Regarding Lizzie Williams
The Columbia Athenaeum created this progress report for the information of Lizzie Williams' parent or guardian in November of 1873. Williams had been studying history, elocution, dictation, composition, arithmetic, algebra, natural philosophy, geology and mineralogy, piano, penmanship, and art. The report's reverse bears an advertisement for the school.

This collection contains an 1887 invitation to the Oratorical Contest for Valedictorians from the UT Medical and Dental Departments, an 1896 UT commencement invitation, a 1920 UT commencement book, a 1921 UT commencement book, and a 1921 UT commencement invitation.
Commission for Ascertaining and Adjusting the Boundary Line Between the States of Virginia and Tennessee
This collection consists of one handwritten document from 1804 by William Maclin pertaining to the boundary line between Virginia and Tennessee. It also includes a handwritten letter signed by John Sevier on July 11, 1804 confirming the validity of Maclin's document. Typed transcripts of both documents are also included.
Commission for Blacks Collection
This collection contains materials documenting the Commission for Blacks at the University of Tennessee, an advisory group to the Chancellor designed to address issues affecting black faculty, staff, and students on campus. Materials include statements of goals, meeting agendas, correspondence, reports of complaints over racial issues, and other documents.
Commission for Women Records
This collection houses meeting minutes, reports, papers, notes, and records of awards documenting the activities of the University of Tennessee's Commission for Women from 1970 to 2002. The bulk of the material dates from the 1980s.

Confederate Army General Orders Number 84
This small leaflet presents the order, issued by S. Cooper, that removed Colonel William Lowe and Colonel A.C. Harding from the army due to maltreatment of civilians. It also rescinds order number 11 of July 23, 1862, made by Major General John Pope because he also had been removed from the army.

Confederate States of America Legislative Document
This broadside, published by Authority, presents to the citizens of Tennessee the General Assembly's reasons for proposing to leave the United States of America, as well as the Declaration of Independence of Tennessee, the military agreement between Tennessee and the Confederacy, the act to authorize a provisional force, and the Constitution of the Provisional Government of the Confederated States of America.
Confederate States of America Treasury Bond
This $100 bond (No. 1415) was issued by the Confederate States of America on July 9, 1862 and would have matured on July 1, 1871. Sixteen small certificates at the bottom, each signed by G. E. Dabney, show how much interest was due to the bearer between January 1, 1864 and July 1, 1871. Four of these certificates have been removed.
Confederate Survivors Association Speech Pamphlet
This pamphlet was published by the Confederate Survivors Association in 1893. It includes transcripts of a speech on the Battle of Chickamauga and military operations in the state of Georgia given by Colonel Joseph B. Cumming on April 26th, 1893 at the association's annual meeting in Augusta, Georgia.

Congressional Globe Subscription Lists
This collection includes eight subscription lists ca. 1834 – 1869 January 27, for the Congressional Globe concerning the 23rd and 39th Congresses. Each subscription document lists the subscriber’s signature and adjacent to each signature is the request for a specific number of copies ordered per subscriber, ranging from 1,000 to a minimum of 100 copies, to be printed by the Globe Office, Washington.
Conner Burnette Collection of Knox County, Tennessee Land Deeds
This collection contains seven land deeds and six land grants from Knox County and, specifically, Knoxville, Tennessee. Two of the land grants are signed by governors of Tennessee, William Carroll in 1839 and William B. Campbell in 1852. Another land grant is signed by John Sevier. Two clerks, M. S. Patterson and R. A. Brown signed the Clerk and Master's Deeds.
Consider Parish Letter
In this letter to John Mitchie, Reverend Consider Parish reports the formation of the Montgomery County Bible Society (an auxiliary of the American Bible Society) on June 17, 1837. The original letter was signed by Reverend H. F. Beaumont (President), John McHeage (Treasurer), and Reverend Consider Parish (Corresponding and Recording Secretary).
