This collection consists of Maurice Park's personal papers, correspondence, military documents, military honors, and photographs from his service in World War II. Also available are materials concerning the commendation to Eastern Command on Sept. 22, 1944, and the 50th Anniversary celebration of V-E day in Moscow.

The Melvin Carr Oral History, 2001, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Melvin Carr by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Nashwa Van Houts of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

This collection features William A. Romeiser's personal narrative, Memories of World War II Experiences, written about his service in the European theatre during World War II.

This collection consists of Paul C. Trammell’s detailed memoir about his experiences in the United States Marine Corps beginning in 1940.

The Richard Thomas Alexander Oral History, 2003, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Richard Alexander by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Jake White of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

This collection includes photographs, U.S. Naval Forces and Eleventh Amphibious Force documents, newspaper excerpts about Robert G. Osborne and his fellow men, and a brief personal narrative from Osborne about his experience in World War II.

The Robert Huddleston World War II Narrative, 1943-1945, is a personal World War II Memoir entitled Into the Wild Blue: The War Years. The narrative discusses Huddleston's service during World War II with the P-47 Thunderbolts, 404th Fighter Group, Ninth Air Force.

This collection houses a typescript of an oral history interview with Rodney Quin Nelson Jr. conducted by Charles Johnson for the Veteran's Oral History Project of the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on Nelson's World War II experiences in the U. S. Navy.

In this four-page memoir, Simpson Linke provides a brief description of his life after World War II. He discusses his journey home from South Korea, his discharge from the Navy, studying Engineering at Cornell, and buying a new home with assistance from the GI Bill.

This collection includes one copy of The Japanese Story, research and recollections of Stanley Sommers' World War II experiences as a prisoner of war.

This collection is a typewritten memoir by Robert Bracken detailing his experiences serving stateside with the Third Service Command during World War II. The memoir is 95 pages and though it was printed and completed in 1991, the text is based off of Bracken’s original manuscript written just after the war in 1946.

This collection consists of an April 27, 2000 interview with Thomas N. Parlon for the Veteran's Oral History Project at the Center for the Study of War and Society, Department of History, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Parlon discusses his participation in the National Guard and his service in the Pacific.

This collection contains W. E. (Bill) Warde's updated version of his memoir My Military Service which covers the time on the front lines in the European Theater (1944-1946). He recounts his experiences in various battles and gives details about the movements of his unit and what he describes as the "worst night of his life," when some of his fellow soldiers were captured and killed in Germany.

This collection features a copy of Love, War, and Hate written by Washington M. Davis about his World War II experience.

This collection includes a 20-page typescript personal narrative of William Bopp’s experiences in World War II. Written in 1990, Bopp recounts his beginnings and training with the military, his experiences overseas in Europe during the war, through his discharge in 1945 and return home.

Also included is a copy of Bopp’s honorable discharge certificate from 1945, and a copy of the “Company A Newsletter” from September 1991 for which Bopp authored the main text.

This collection includes a memoir and photographs documenting William Bradley’s World War II military service. The memoir, “World War Two – My War,” is a typescript document written between 1989 and 1991 detailing Bradley’s journey to and service in the China Burma India Theater of War with the 151st Medical Battalion. Also included are fifteen photographs from this time; a page of handwritten captions accompanies the images.

This segment of the World War II Collection houses material from several Pearl Harbor survivors in addition to donations from former prisoners of war. Of particular interest are the personal interviews with veterans recorded on cassette tapes. A significant number of maps and bombardment charts may be found in the oversize section.
