This collection includes copies of Yank (four issues) and Leatherneck (two issues) magazines from 1944-1945 belonging to Robert Thurman.
Robert Trumbull Pearl Harbor Series
This collection consists of photocopies of New York Times correspondent Robert Trumbull's series on Pearl Harbor. Covering a two-year period, the dispatch describes the post-attack effort to salvage Pearl Harbor. The series was completed in 1943, but was not published due to wartime censorship. In December of 2006, the New York Times finally released an edited version of the dispatches.
Robert W. Barbee Collection
This collection contains eleven American propaganda pamphlets aimed at encouraging Japanese troops to surrender during World War II. These pamphlets are written in Japanese with English translations attached.
Rodmond C. Rentfro Papers
This collection includes documents and photographs from Rodmond Rentfro’s World War II stateside military service. The documents include paperwork surrounding Rentfro’s honorable discharge from the Army and his separation qualification record. There are four photographs: two are military group portraits, one depicts the soldiers working in a pressroom, and the final is a large unidentified group of civilians, likely Rentfro’s family.
Rodney Q. Nelson Jr. Oral History
This collection houses a typescript of an oral history interview with Rodney Quin Nelson Jr. conducted by Charles Johnson for the Veteran's Oral History Project of the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on Nelson's World War II experiences in the U. S. Navy.

Ross D. Netherton Collection
This collection consists primarily of books from the late Helen Bullard Krechniak's library. Most of these works discuss art and Asian travel. The collection also houses two newspapers contributed by Ross Netherton: a Washington Post covering the capture of Saddam Hussein in December 2003, and a Stars and Stripes insert advertising a national World War II reunion in 2004.
Ross D. Netherton Papers
This includes a National World War II Memorial kit from 2003, with information on the National World War II Memorial dedication, and a Veterans History Project kit, undated, which features information and pamphlets on collecting and preserving stories from American war veterans. Also included is part of a letter written by Helen Bullard Krechniak in reference to an exhibition of American and Japanese dolls in Japan in 1978.
Roy A. Miller Jr. Papers
This collection documents Roy A. Miller Jr.’s service with the U. S. Army in the European Theater during World War II. Included is correspondence between Miller and his parents, a booklet documenting his service record, and copies of military documents pertaining to his service and discharge.

Roy Gordon Collection
Roy Gordon's book titled Battleground (1978), an anecdotal account of the black platoon in the 47th Infantry Regiment of which Roy Gordon was a member during World War II. The collection also contains four handwritten, loose-leaf diary pages with six entries from Europe written between 1944-1945.

Sam Balloff Oral History
Collection consists of a 114-page bound interview from Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society, Department of History at the University of Tennessee. Balloff discusses his experieces as a young Jewish boy growing up in the South and as a soldier during World War II. During the war, he was assigned odd jobs, including grave registration and truck driving.
Sidney Bishop Collection
The Sidney Bishop Collection, 1999-2003, contains reunion information on the 8th Armored Division that served during World War II. The collection includes a directory, as well as a history of the division.
Simpson Linke Memoirs
In this four-page memoir, Simpson Linke provides a brief description of his life after World War II. He discusses his journey home from South Korea, his discharge from the Navy, studying Engineering at Cornell, and buying a new home with assistance from the GI Bill.
