Bedford County Petition to the Tennessee Constitutional Convention

This petition, submitted to the Tennessee Constitutional Convention by a group of citizens from Bedford County, asks that body to "insert a clause in the revized or amended Constitution of this State, affecting the gradual emancipation of Slaves, so that it shall be a free state against the year 1866."

Benjamin D. Raskopf Papers

This collection houses primarily books, pamphlets, charts, correspondence, and drafts of chapters documenting Raskopf's The Agricultural History of Tennessee, which he intended to cover every aspect of the history of farm life from crops to churches. The collection also houses Raskopf's Rural Research Series, which he wrote through the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Sociology at the University of Tennessee.

Benjamin F. Witt Jr. Collection

This collection contains Benjamin F. Witt Jr.'s military documents and photographs from his time in the U.S. Navy during World War II, particularly while serving on the USS Moffett. The photos show work and recreational time of the service members as well as views from aboard the ship. Benjamin H. Johnson Memoir

This collection contains one copy of "Return to Freedom," a typescript memoir written by Benjamin H. Johnson. Originally penned in 1973, Johnson revised his work in 1987. The 60-page manuscript details Johnson's World War II experiences in Europe, particularly as a prisoner of war. Benjamin Hawkins Letter
