Bedford County Petition to the Tennessee Constitutional Convention
This petition, submitted to the Tennessee Constitutional Convention by a group of citizens from Bedford County, asks that body to "insert a clause in the revized or amended Constitution of this State, affecting the gradual emancipation of Slaves, so that it shall be a free state against the year 1866." The petition is then signed by 47 individuals listed into two columns: "slaveholders" and "non-slaveholders."
Beene Family Manuscript
This collection includes an original working manuscript about the Beene family and other related families written by Virgil Francis Carmichael. Benjamin F. Witt Jr. Collection
This collection contains Benjamin F. Witt Jr.'s military documents and photographs from his time in the U.S. Navy during World War II, particularly while serving on the USS Moffett. The photos show work and recreational time of the service members as well as views from aboard the ship. The documents include Witt's identification card, training course certificates, newsletters and reports related to the Moffett., and other military paperwork.

Benjamin H. Johnson Memoir
