McGill Family Papers
This collection contains documents concerning the McGill family from Knoxville, TN. Four of the McGill children, addressed in this collection, served in the U.S. military during World War II.
Navy Department "Eyes for the Navy" Correspondence
This collection consists of a memo from the Navy Department asking citizens to donate binoculars, telescopes and spy-glasses for the war effort, a part of the "Eyes for the Navy" campaign. Also included is a check made out to Eleanor F. Buffat and a signed letter from Franklin Delano Roosevelt, then the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, thanking her for her war-time contribution.

World War II Oral History Collection
This collection includes recorded interviews with World War II veterans. In addition to their wartime experiences, veterans are asked about their upbringing, their lives before entering the service, and their attempts to readjust to civilian life after discharge. Information regarding theatre, branch and interviewer have been included when available. Transcripts are available for some interviews.
