Abstract This collection consists primarily of two bibliographies related to the Knoxville Academy of Medicine and the Tennessee State Medical Association. Bill Rice Papers

Abstract

This collection houses two song sheets and a ribbon from Bill Rice's Rice Revival, held in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 1946. Song sheets include lyrics for "Everybody Ought to Know" and lyrics and music for "Sing As You Ride." Photographs are printed on all items and include pictures of Bill Rice, his wife, and their children.

Bill White Oral History

The Bill White Oral History, 2000, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Bill White by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Brandi Wilson of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods.

Blount College Tuition Receipt

This collection houses a receipt showing that William Clay paid Blount College eight dollars of tuition for his son, Clement Clay, on May 6, 1805. This document has the distinction of being the oldest known item in the University of Tennessee Archives.

Blount County Surveys

Abstract

These two surveys were performed on behalf of Jacob and Margaret Thomas of Blount County, Tennessee. Each document includes a chart of markers and distances, a scale drawing of the plot, and a written description of the survey. Surveyor General Robert Wear certified both surveys on February 29, 1808.

William Maclin, Secretary of State for Tennessee, on May 24, 1799 issued a bill for the United States government concerning the boarding of eight Creek Indians for 33 1/2 cents each (including one gallon of whiskey) for two nights in Nashville, TN.

Bobbe Johnson Memories of Pearl Harbor

Overview This collection contains a 12-page typescript memoir by Bobbe Johnson in which Johnson describes the days before, during, and after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Johnson was living with her husband, a lieutenant with the U.S. Navy, in Oahu, Hawaii at the time. Johnson’s husband survived the attack, but many of their friends and coworkers did not.
