Charles and Betty Torreyson Collection
This collection contains nine folders of correspondence sent to the Torreysons of Knoxville, mostly between February and April of 1942.
Charles and Elizabeth P. Stillman Letters
This collection consists primarily of two bound volumes of transcriptions of letters written between Charles and Elizabeth P. Stillman from 1849 to 1865. The volumes were compiled in 1936 and 1937.
Charles and Grace Bost Letters
This collection includes WWII-era correspondence between Charles and Grace Bost as well as letters from friends of the family, especially other servicemen from the Springfield area. Also included in the collection are cards sent to the Bosts congratulating them on the birth of their daughter, Connie.
Charles and Virginia Baldwin Letters and Statement
This collection houses two letters addressed to Charles and Virginia Baldwin. The first, written in July 1914, informs Virginia Baldwin that she has been accepted into the Book Club of California. The second, written in February 1926, informs Charles Baldwin that he has been accepted into the Grolier Club of New York City.

Charles B. Pittinger Letter on The Anesthetization of Fanny Longfellow for Childbirth on April 7, 1847
This collection consists of a letter written by Dr. Charles B. Pittinger of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine affirming a statement made by the National Museum of American History that Fanny Longfellow, wife of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was the first person to receive obstetrical anesthesia in the United States from Dr. Nathan Cooley Keep. The letter is undated.
Charles B. Warr Correspondence
This collection includes V-mail correspondence sent by Charles Warr during 1944 from France and Germany. In these four notes to his future wife Virginia Campbell, Warr comments on conditions and the status of the war.

This collection contains a letter, dated June 23, 1892, by Charles Chaillé-Long, an American soldier and a member of Charles Gordon’s staff in the Egyptian Equatoria province. The letter is to British explorer and abolitionist Samuel White Baker, Gordon’s predecessor as Governor-General of Equatoria. The letter addresses Chaillé-Long’s book that has a negative outlook on General Gordon.
Charles (Chili) Dean, Jr. Papers
The Chili Dean Papers, 1960s-1990 (bulk 1980s), house the professional papers of Charles H. Chili Dean, Chairman of the TVA during the Nuclear Power Program in the 1980s. The collection includes publications (newspapers, reports, etc.), speeches and writings, power program material (finances, project information, nuclear power plant information, etc.), and administrative files (in-house memoranda, employee relations, operation information, etc.).
Charles Christensen Letter
This collection contains a February 21, 1862, letter from Civil War soldier Charles Christensen, camped at Cairo, Illinois, to Richard Morris of Cedar Lake Wisconsin. Christensen, a member of the 8th Wisconsin, discusses his regiment, Union victories at Forts Donelson and Henry, Confederate General Lloyd Tilghman, possible rebel attacks at Cairo, the overpopulation of prisoners of war, as well as personal family matters.

Charles D. Butte Collection
The Charles D. Butte Collection, 1921-2003 (bulk 1940-1948), consists of diaries, memoirs, and histories of the 603rd Quartermaster Graves Registration Company (QM GR CO) that served during and after World War II. This collection extensively covers the activity of the QM GR CO, and the diaries give insight to the experiences shared by its members. The collection also includes several compact discs and a floppy disk that contain electronic copies of the printed information.
