This collection features three newspaper clippings about Lieutenant Charles O. Rainwater's crash landing in April of 1943 in Central America during World War II. The collection also houses a map of France sent to Rainwater's father with an accompanying letter, dated May 19, 1943, and several undated photographs of Rainwater, his plane, and the plane wreckage.

This collection consists of correspondence to Charles P. Toncray from 1901 to 1909, a land deed from 1881, and three checks from 1906 written by Toncray.

This collection consists of a manuscript titled, Charles S. Lindsay, Bomb Disposal Officer Coming of Age in Okinawa by Paul N. Birdwell and Charles S. Lindsay's memoir South of Yontan Okinawa. Also included is a transcript of an interview with Charles S. Lindsay by Paul N. Birdwell.

This collection consists of five letters written by Charles Steele, a soldier in Company D of the 53rd Regiment of Indiana Volunteers, between April 1, 1862 and August 10, 1863 in Savannah (Tennessee), Memphis (Tennessee), and Vicksburg (Mississippi) to his mother and sister. Also included in this collection is a letter to Steele's sister from her niece, Maggie, expressing concern for Charles Steele, as well as a color photocopy of Steele's Compiled Military Service Record (CMSR).

This ledger documents the accounts of Maryville lawyer Charles T. Cates between 1866 and 1876. In each record, Cates lists the name of his client, describes the services he performed, and indicates how much he charged. An index (arranged by the client's last name) appears on the first few pages of the book.

Charles Watts wrote this letter to his sister, Helen M. Watts, from Nashville, Tennessee on October 11, 1813. In it, he describes his journey from Lexington to Nashville (including a saltpeter cave he visited and his meeting with Lorenzo Dow), responds to news that Helen Watts sent in her last letter, and asks after his family and friends.

The papers of Charles W. Dabney, noted entomologist, were extracted from the James D. Hoskins Collection. The material consists of several folders concerning the Association of Urban Universities, addresses at UT and Cincinnati, commencement speeches, and his Brotherhood Principles.

The Charles Wright Manuscripts contain seven proof copies for a 1984 Random House vintage print of Wright's book of poetry entitled The Other Side of the River.

This collection consists of a proof of a thesis entitled, "The Establishment of Permanent Photo Points in Great Smoky Mountains National Park for the Monitoring of Red Spruce Crown Condition," written by Charlotte Pyle.

This collection contains one letter from Charlotte M. Yonge to an unidentified Madam in 1878. It requests that the recipient send an advertisement and stamps to the publisher.

This manifest lists the cargo aboard the sloop Charming Sally on its run from Murfreesborough, North Carolina to New York City under master Alexander Mather. This cargo included pease, tobacco, tar, potatoes, and other items. The manifest was signed by Col. H. Murfree.

These records include lists of the members of the Charter Day Committee and the Founder's Day Committee in charge of selecting medal recipients, correspondence, brochures, photographs, invitations, pamphlets describing distinguished faculty, and transcripts of speeches. All of the material dates from between 1992 and 2000.

This collection consists of two undated photographs relating to the Chattanooga Lookouts baseball team. One portrays a Lookouts player standing with four other men in baseball attire, and the other depicts a crowd, presumably watching a baseball game, in Chattanooga's Engel Stadium.

The collection consists of papers from the Chattanooga (Tennessee) Police Department during 1909. There is correspondence to the department, reward fliers, fugitive fliers, and more.

This collection features a single photo-postcard of a Cherokee woman and child on the porch of a house in 1931.

This collection contains copies of five photographs from the Cherokee Indian Fair of 1930, including four images of the ball players and their ball game and one image of a blow gun practice.

This collection is comprised of photographs of the 73rd Bomb Wing, stationed in Saipan during World War II. The photos include images of B-29 bombers as they were sent on raids to Japan, as well as official Air Force photographs, aerial shots, and photographs of the members of the 878th Bomb Squadron. The collection also contains Chester Marshall's personal military documents including orders and memorandums. Two book jackets are also included from his published works.

This collection contains a bound series of newsletters published monthly in the 1880s by the Chi Delta Literary Society at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Each issue has editorials, essays, poetry, news, event announcements, and local advertisements.

This collection houses a Chi Delta Phi (University of Tennessee Chapter) magazine entitled The Litterateur dating from March of 1940 and a membership pin. The magazine includes literary pieces written by Chi Delta Phi members and the membership pin is engraved with the name Betty Greer and date Feb. 15, 1940.
