Melinda W. White Diploma

The Knoxville Female Academy granted this testimonial, or diploma, to Melinda W. White. It is signed by Joseph Estabrook (who served as the institution's principal from 1831 to 1834) and by trustees Mat. McClung, L. D. Jacobs, William S. Howell, and William C. Mynatt. Although it is not dated, Melinda W. White is listed as a student during the 1831 summer session.

Maureen Carlomagno authored this research paper, entitled "Opening New Doors for Young Women: The History of Knoxville Female Academy" and dated April 14, 1997, for an English III AP class.
