This collection consists of three diplomas that belonged to Julia Isabel Ramsay during her years at the University of Tennessee, Greeneville and Tusculum College, and Washington and Tusculum College within the years 1905-1913.

The State Normal Institute of Tennessee issued this second grade teaching certificate to Kittie Ebert during the first session of 1881. It is signed by W. S. Doak, state superintendent, and E. Alexander, secretary.

This collection consists of a letter from Mary Jane McNairy in Nashville, dated December 19, 1838, to (Jane) Ellen Foster in Philadelphia. Mary discusses her plans for Christmas break, local parties and gossip about friends and love affairs.

This collection is the photograph album of Mary K. Barden. These are photographs of rural farmers, teachers, and missionaries in Tennessee from 1915 to 1925. These pictures were taken in Hartford, Tennessee and its surrounding areas.

This journal contains a two series of notes from various medical lectures in 1830 and 1831.

The Knoxville Female Academy granted this testimonial, or diploma, to Melinda W. White. It is signed by Joseph Estabrook (who served as the institution's principal from 1831 to 1834) and by trustees Mat. McClung, L. D. Jacobs, William S. Howell, and William C. Mynatt. Although it is not dated, Melinda W. White is listed as a student during the 1831 summer session.

This collection houses morning reports, absence reports, accounts of military offences, notes, grade books, and other materials documenting the University of Tennessee's Military Department between 1889 and 1917.

This diploma certifies that the East Tennessee Female Institute conferred the degree of Mistress of Polite Literature on Naomi J. White on February 27, 1851.

This collection houses two diplomas documenting honorary LLDs awarded to O. P. Temple. One was issued by Washington College on May 3, 1899 and the other by the University of Harriman on September 4, 1902.

This collection houses the records of the Office of the Senior Vice President at the University of Tennessee, Nashville. Of particular interest are the files documenting UT Nashville's merger with Tennessee State University.

Maureen Carlomagno authored this research paper, entitled "Opening New Doors for Young Women: The History of Knoxville Female Academy" and dated April 14, 1997, for an English III AP class. The paper itself consists of a title page, an eight page outline, and a nine page report describing the history of women's education in Knoxville, Tennessee from 1827 to 1924. Carlomagno mentions a number of prominent Knoxvillians and educational pioneers, including Lizzie Crozier French.

This collection houses materials documenting Professor Orin B. Graff's work with the University of Tennessee's Department of Education, including information about education professors, documents regarding scholarships, and reports on educational administration.

This collection consists of a letter from Sallie Foster dated September 29, 1850, sent from Ashwood School to her sister Jane Ellen Foster Cheatham. Sallie describes life at the school and tells how much she misses her family.
