Dr. Hermes Grillo Oral History
The Dr. Hermes Grillo Oral History, 2002, is a typescript from an oral history interview with Dr. Hermes Grillo by Dr. Kurt Piehler and Crystal Dover of the University of Tennessee for the Veteran's Oral History Project conducted by the Center for the Study of War and Society. The interview focuses primarily on his World War II experiences, but also covers pre-war and post-war periods. Dr. Grillo shares the experience of surgery on the war front.
Earl S. Wilson Memoir
This collection is the World War II memoir of Earl S. Wilson, particularly Wilson’s time training in 1942. The manuscript is a 21-page typed document, made in 1987. The memoir begins with Wilson’s entry into the service in July 1942 and follows him through the end of the year; he recounts stories of his training at Camp Wolters, Fort Leonard Wood, and the University of Kentucky. Wilson later served in the Pacific Theater of War, though this time is not covered in this manuscript.
Edgar Wilson Collection

Edward Laughlin World War II Memoir
This collection consists of Edward P. Laughlin's WWII Memoir A Paratrooper's Journey, written in 1999. He describes his initial Army experiences during basic training, jump school, and demolition school. He also discusses his combat action, including his part in the Battle of the Bulge, and his role in the Berlin occupation.
Edward Paul Laughlin Memoir
This collection contains Edward Laughlin’s memoir of his World War II experiences. The memoir begins with the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and follows his movements through 1945. The manuscript is approximately 350 typed pages and is broken down into short chapters, moving chronologically through the war.
Edward Williamson Collection
The Edward Williamson Collection, 1945, consists of a book compiled by Williamson entitled Wild Tales of the Blue Yonder. The book contains stories of 21 pilots who graduated from the Army Air Corps Class of 1945-B.

Fox Family Collection
This collection features one copy of The Story of the Lewis and Marjorie Fox Family of Big Springs written by their eldest daughter, Judy Elizabeth Fox Knoblock. Featuring the personal narratives of Lewis and Majorie, Judy provides a recollection of their family's history, particularly during the Great Depression and World War II.
Frank Baghetti Collection
This collection includes a copy of World War II soldier Frank Baghetti's memoir, "As I Witnessed World War II," along with aa photograph of Baghetti's plane, "Hubba Hubba."
Fred Dearing Collection
This collection documents Fred Dearing's World War II service, particularly his time as a prisoner of war. It included an excerpt from his diary while imprisoned (photocopy), a newspaper article that details his POW experiences, and a report on the on 388th Operation-Hamburg Mission.
Gene Conlee Diary
This collection is the typed World War II diary of Gene Conlee. The diary, entitled “Across the Cotton Patch …Then Beyond,” begins in September 1943 and follows regular entries through July 1945. In it, Conlee documents his movements and experiences during training and service in Italy during the war.

Henry Kent Memoir

James J. Akins Collection
Transcription of an oral history conducted with James J. Akins, who served as a pilot during World War II in the European theater. Akins was captured by German forces in 1944 and held for almost a year as a prisoner of war. During his service, he performed in several important raids on German forces. In his interview, he dictates experiences from before, during, and after the war.
